Endymion
resin,silk; Collins Gallery,
University of Strathclyde, 2001 |
Endymion was loved by the Moon. He fell into an eternal sleep so that the Moon could come to him always and make love. Endymion's bliss was also in effect his death.
My sculpture is full of holes. Silk moves in and out of the form. It is cast in white, and the cloth is white.
The form is defined by shadow and negative space. The space of the centre is a part of the space at the perifery. The outside and the inside are the same. |
